Hi all,
Whether you have stumbled upon or been invited or
coerced to visit this blog it's just great you are here.
In July this year Jo
and I will be heading off on what we hope will be an amazing trip. We have both
finally managed to accrue enough long service leave to undertake a great
Australian outback odyssey.
We are still in the
planning stage right now but our initial plans have us starting from Sydney
(because that's where we live) and heading north through Queensland up the
Birdsville track to Birdsville. Through the Simpson dessert but taking the lesser travelled Hay River
Track through the North of the dessert. Up to the Plenty Highway then west to
Alice Springs.
From there its North
West via the Tanami Road to Kununurra, the Gibb River rd. through the Kimberly
then off to the Pilbara in North Western West Australia and back home via some
dirt track that we haven't worked out yet.
All up a little shy
of 3 months and I cant wait. Jo and I hope to document our travels in these
pages as best we can given that we will spend extended periods of time in areas
where there will be no access to my beloved internet. How will I cope?
